TASS works with the RYA to continue to grow a sustainable dual career pathway for developing sailors as they transition out of Youth Sailing Classes into the next phase of their sailing, whilst continuing their education.
This programme has the ultimate aim of giving the supported sailors a choice between either a career in the sport or a career choice out of the sport whilst still maintaining their passion and commitment to a lifetime in sailing.
The British Youth Sailing programme operates a sailing hub model, which provides sailing specific sport science support out of the University of Southampton and Exeter University. Therefore, the majority of TASS supported sailors are usually based at one of these institutions.
