TASS funding continues to be extremely important to the RFU as it provides support for the athletes at the upper end of the talent pathway. These identified players are those which have shown a commitment and drive to personally be the best they can be within both their educational and sporting achievements.
The award of TASS support to an athlete means that they can work with their chosen educational institution, TASS and the RFU who by working as an overall partnership can create and maintain a balanced programme.
It will allow the athletes to maximize their rugby progression through an increased amount of specific rugby delivery alongside a focused Strength and Conditioning programme with individualised physio support.
One of the main benefits of TASS to these young aspiring athletes is the provision of Lifestyle support which helps them to keep a balance between the demands of being a rugby player within a performance pathway but also to achieve set academic and personal goals whilst at university or their chosen educational institution.
TASS supports athletes within the England Senior Academy, competing at England U20 or within the 7s Development Squad.
