The University of Gloucestershire is a small, specialist and connected university, which enjoys fantastic locations in Cheltenham and Gloucester.
We focus on excellence in teaching, with a mission to enable our students to achieve their full potential through a rich and broad experience. We pride ourselves on building personal relationships with students and staff. Be part of a close-knit, supportive community of staff and students, living and learning among those who share your passions, academic interests and goals.
The University of Gloucestershire’s vision is to create the sporting experience of a lifetime and ensure that every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential. We are committed to supporting our student-athletes on their journey through education and elite sport. We foster a dual career ethos that allows our students to not only obtain a valuable qualification and skills for their future but also compete and excel at the highest level of sport. We offer academic flexibility so our talented student-athletes can achieve a balance between academic responsibilities and sporting demands.
As a new TASS Delivery Site (TDS), we are aiming to base our work ethos on an athlete centred approach, where our ambition is to empower the athletes that have chosen us to receive the TASS services, working with them to help them achieve their goals. Our core support will be based on Strength & Conditioning, Physiotherapy, Lifestyle support and Sport Psychology, with the additional benefit of free access to the fitness suite on campus and free kit.
Currently we have 10 athletes that access the core services provided by our experienced practitioners. 8 of those athletes are studying a course at the University of Gloucestershire and we have 2 external athletes that are from around the county. The sports that our current athletes play are Women’s rugby union, rugby league, shooting, squash and boccia.
