Itchen Sixth Form College is passionate about providing the opportunity for students to develop and achieve at the highest level in their sporting pathway as well as their academics as part of the TASS Dual Career Accreditation Scheme.

It is important to note that students wishing to follow a TASS Dual Career have access to all of our 80 courses and not just sport specific courses.

Potential Dual Career Athletes will have access to Academy of Sport sessions as well as:

  • Flexibility in their academic timetable to enable sporting commitments
  • Distance learning opportunities
  • One to one mentoring and support with the Dual Career Coordinator
  • Workshops throughout the year including sports nutrition and psychology, pathway and progression support
  • Free sports massage
  • Individual Strength and Conditioning programmes

The Academy of Sport at Itchen College is the strongest in Hampshire and delivers a wide variety of sports including football, basketball, golf, athletics, netball, rugby and volleyball. All of our Academy of Sport students have access to technical/tactical training sessions as well as strength and conditioning and performance analysis sessions. We are delighted to be one of two colleges in the UK to be delivering an Athletics programme as part of our Academy of Sport.

We are extremely proud of our National success in Men and Women’s Basketball, Men and Women’s Football, Men and Women’s Golf as well as Athletics and Cross-Country. High performing basketball athletes have the opportunity to undertake the Academy of Sporting Excellence (ASE) programme whilst studying their academics.

We are honoured to be the only college in Hampshire to be accredited with the TASS Dual Career and look forward to supporting students to enable them to achieve sporting and academic success.
