Durham University is consistently ranked as a world top 100 university and in the top 5 in the UK. We are Britain’s Number 1 Team Sport University and have been since 2013. Sport at Durham University is focused on the core principles of performance, leadership, participation and community engagement. Our philosophy at Durham is to provide opportunities in sport to inspire the extraordinary. There are few institutions which more seamlessly and successfully combine sporting and academic excellence.

• We typically support over 50 capped internationals per year.
• We support 17 student performance programmes and are continuing to grow.
• In the last four years Team Durham teams have won 49 National Championships across 16 sports.

Durham consistently supports its talented student athletes by working with the Universities academic departments to make the necessary adjustments required to ensure flexibility where needed. Receiving formal recognition by the TASS Dual Career Accreditation Scheme is a testament to the hard work put in by both staff and students to ensure the appropriate processes are in place enabling our athletes to achieve both their academic and sporting potential.

Durham University are excited to work in partnership with TASS on an ongoing basis, becoming part of the broader TASS network and helping to develop the Dual Career Accreditation Scheme in the years to come.
