Barton Peveril Sixth Form College is a highly successful and competitive college based in Hampshire. Our vision is of a community where everyone connected to it is committed to the highest standards of learning, effort and achievement.

As part of the TASS Dual Career Accreditation Scheme we are committed to ensuring our student athletes can achieve their full potential, both in their academic and sporting endeavours.

At Barton Peveril student success will always be our greatest achievement. It comes in many forms and encompasses so much more than our outstanding exam results. As a student athlete you will have access to our full range of courses offered including A Levels, vocational courses and an enrichment programme.

TASS Dual Career students will have access to the following:

  • Flexibility in their academic timetable and assessments
  • Distance learning opportunities
  • Timetabled sessions of lifestyle support and workshops throughout the year including: Nutrition, Sport Psychology, Injury Prevention and Media Training
  • Careers and university application support
  • Allocated Sports Tutor/pastoral support
  • 1:2:1 athlete support with the Dual Career Coordinator
  • Buddy system
  • Free College gym membership

There is also a full competitive programme of sport at College and, as part of the Hampshire PE Association, Barton Peveril regularly competes in a range of sports from county competitions to regional and national levels.

Students also have the opportunity to represent British Colleges as part of the AOC (Association of Colleges) programme. Barton Peveril offers Elite programmes in Men’s and Women’s Football (we are also an FA Grassroots Hub), Netball, Basketball, Cricket and Badminton. We also have competitive College teams in hockey, rugby, athletics, swimming, and table tennis.

The TASS Dual Career Scheme is open to any athlete competing in any sport, not just those named above, and as an example we have previously supported students competing in golf, cycling, rowing, sailing and gymnastics.
