Job vacancy: TASS seeks to recruit TALS qualification Tutor

A Lifestyle meeting taking place with a TASS athlete at Oxford Brookes University

TASS is looking to employ a part-time Talented Athlete Lifestyle Support (TALS) Tutor and Assessor to deliver courses across England.

In this flexible role, the individual will help TASS to deliver the 1st4sport Level 3 TALS qualification to current or prospective practitioners in the area of lifestyle support for athletes.

The role involves both tutoring and assessing learners and delivery will take place through various education sites, therefore requiring extensive travel across the country and potentially some international travel.

Key responsibilities include the preparing and face-to-face teaching of the TALS qualification, assessing learners undertaking the course and contributing to the review of TALS delivery.

TASS is a national support scheme for talented athletes in full-time education, with the mission to help athletes fulfil their potential in both their sport and studies without having to choose between the two.

At the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games, 165 athletes who represented Great Britain had been previously supported by the Scheme, with TASS alumni bringing a return of 78 medals.

More recently, at the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympic Games, former TASS recipients won three of Team GB’s five medals, including Lizzy Yarnold’s gold in skeleton.
