SUCCESS ACROSS SPORTS FOR MANCHESTER WOMEN

Several TASS athletes associated with the University of Manchester are celebrating recent sporting triumphs.
Academy cricket player and former TASS athlete, Emma Lamb, has been presented with the Lancashire Thunder Player of the Year Award. The accolade was well earned after her exceptional performance in the inaugural Kia Super League this summer.
Lamb collected her prize at the LCCC Foundation Gala Dinner and Player of the Year Awards, an annual fundraising event and celebration evening.
Meanwhile, the England U21 Roses cruised to the Netball Europe title in style as they reigned supreme at the competitive tournament.
Winning squad members, Amy Carter, Iona Darroch and Gabby Marshall are all receiving support at University of Manchester from TASS alongside their studies.
Commanding the court from the opening whistle, the team went on to take three wins against Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, once again lifting the Netball Europe trophy.
Current TASS athletes Rhea Dixon (University of Surrey), Emily Hollingworth (University of Newcastle), Vicki Oyesola (Loughborough University) and Razia Quashie (St Mary’s University) also represented the Roses at the Championships.
Their success was particularly well timed, falling within Women’s Sport Week, a celebration of inspirational female athletes.
