TASS represented in force at Paralympics

Between 7-18 September, the biggest multi-sport competition for elite disabled athletes will take centre stage in Rio. Scores of TASS alumni will be competing in the global competition.

Over the eleven days of the 2016 Paralympics:

• 4,350 athletes from 160 countries will compete for 528 medals across 23 sports
• 67 TASS-supported athletes will represent Team GB in the squad of 264
• Nathan Maguire (Liverpool John Moores) and Julie Rogers (Loughborough) are the most recent TASS alumni
• 50% of Team GB are competing at their first Games and for 72%, Rio is their first away Games
• Team GB has a medal target of 121, one more than London 2012
