Bishop Burton College is leading the way with supporting talented athletes in education in England, having been accredited by an innovative Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) initiative.
Bishop Burton is committed to providing young people the chance to develop their sporting ability and shine on the highest possible stage all whilst gaining a specialist, technical education and creating a TASS Dual Career. At Bishop Burton you will have the opportunity to study a wide range of level three courses including subjects such as Agriculture, Animal Management, Equine, Sport, Art and Design, Construction, Floristry and Business, plus many more employment-focused options alongside your chosen sport.
The Sport England-funded Scheme believes that every young person on a talent pathway should have the opportunity to gain qualifications alongside their sporting pursuits and have the chance to follow other interests and personal development.
By formally recognising an institution’s commitment to supporting student-athletes, the TASS Dual Career Accreditation Scheme aims to allow athletes to reach their potential in education alongside achieving success in their sport.
Bishop Burton will provide support and guidance for aspiring athletes offering regular mentoring sessions, academic flexibility, catch up notes as well as workshops that cover subjects such as coping with injury, resilience, C.V writing and much more. At Bishop Burton we believe in developing the whole person to Breathe it, Believe it. Become it.
