Lead TASS Education and Athlete Support Advisor

An outstanding person is sought for the key appointment of the Lead TASS Athlete Support Manager. The role represents a major opportunity to assist in the development of TASS, higher/further education institutions and NGBs in their delivery of support services to elite athletes.

This person will be required to:

• Develop, deliver and promote programmes for TASS athletes and World Class athletes in education to ensure they are continually supported in sport/education life balance.
• Develop partnerships and initiatives with other bodies, such as AASE, SkillsActive, Open University etc, to provide further opportunities for TASS and World Class athletes to access further and higher education.
• Work with appropriate partners to develop and deliver the Talented Athlete Lifestyle Support (TALS).
• Ensure a consistent approach to the delivery of the Lifestyle Support programmes via the TASS Institution Lifestyle Support Advisors.
• Act as an independent reference point for NGBs and their athletes requiring educational support and guidance. As well as developing the necessary tools to support athletes wishing progress their sporting and academic skills.
• Work with the team and other national network points to create a world class high performance training environment

The person should have:

• A qualification at degree level (or equivalent) in Sports Management, Sports Science, Sports Medicine, Psychology or relevant discipline
• Experience in the delivery of education in the further and/or higher education sector.
• Experience in career and education guidance or significant experience in counselling with the ability to demonstrate a high level; of knowledge and competence
• A good understanding of how the UK educational system currently delivers education and the educational opportunities available to those over 16 years old. .
• Experience of writing and delivering education programmes, for both students and service providers.

There will be significant travel involved in the role and access to one's own transport would be essential.
