HOW TO CLAIM

TASS athletes who require specialist medical treatment, procedures or investigations which are covered under the TASS Medical Insurance scheme, should follow the procedure below:

• § 1) If you are injured*, you must first attend your local TASS physiotherapy clinic, or appropriate physiotherapy clinic, as agreed with your Hub institution.
• § 2) If specialist treatment is indicated, the physiotherapist will recommend that you make an appointment with a TASS approved sports physician.
• § 3) You must contact the TASS Medical Administrator - 0191 227 4239; medical@tass.gov.uk - who will facilitate booking an appointment with your local sports physician.
• § 4) Before the TASS Medical Administrator can approve any medical insurance funding, you must have returned your signed athlete medical consent form and athlete agreement to TASS.
• § 5) Once the TASS Medical Administrator has agreed that you are eligible to access the medical insurance scheme, your medical care package will be initiated by the TASS sports physician.

*Injury = muscle strains, joint sprains, tendon pain etc. If you have a medical problem then you should make an appointment directly with your personal GP.
