Zoe Gillings is a professional British snowboarder who recently finished in 8th place at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games – the highest finish of all the British snow sports athletes – with a knee injury unfortunately forcing her to pull out of the final heat. She started snowboarding at the age of ten. Zoe has progressed from Children’s Championship races, to competing for Great Britain at the Youth Olympics and is now competing in all major Snowboard cross (SBX) events including the last 2 winter Olympic games. Zoe is the only British athlete to ever win Gold at a World Cup SBX event as well as winning several World Cup podiums and being ranked World No 1. Zoe is Britain’s highest ranked snow sport athlete.
Zoe has run her very own Grass Roots schools campaign for the past 3 years serving the youth of British sport. In recent years Zoe has also written regular articles for the BBC, and The Telegraph and is writing for the Mail on Sunday for the 2010/11 season.
