I am the 2012 British Ladies Champion for 10 meter Air Pistol and I am currently studying for my Masters at Royal Holloway, University of London. I graduated with first class honours in 2011 from my undergraduate degree in Biology.
Since studying for my A levels I have competed at the top of my sport. I shoot two disciplines Air Pistol (10 meters) and Sport Pistol (25 meters). My dominant event, and the event I have focused on for this bio, is Air Pistol.
I first represented GBR in 2007 aged 16 years and 10 months. I have since represented both England and GBR across the globe. In 2008 at my first Junior Europeans I finished 7th. That year I also competed in India at the Youth Commonwealth Games making the final. In 2009 I won Bronze at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival.
In the December of 2010 I competed in my first Senior international in Luxembourg where I won silver. This marked the start of my Senior career, albeit a month early. In shooting you become a Senior on January 1st of the year of your 21st Birthday. I was pleased to be leaving Juniors as I was looking forward to the challenges of Senior competition.
This last season (2010/2011) saw me selected to compete for GBR at the Senior Europeans and World Cups which were all fantastic experiences. The highlight of the season was my trip to China for the World University Games, which TASS so very kindly contributed towards the financial cost. This impressive multiple sport event was extremely good fun but most importantly a valuable experience which will stand me in good stead for future multi-sport events.
The 2011/2012 season has already started and for me it went of with a bang! In September, at the Commonwealth Shooting Federation Championships (European Division) I won the Ladies AIr Pistol and scored another MCS for the major matches of this next season. So far this year I have competed at the Munich Airgun International and the Europeans Championships. I will be competing at the London Olympic Test event and Munich Wold Cup later in the year. Sadly I will not be at the Olympics but I am looking forward to the challenge of securing a Quota place for Rio 2016!
