Craig McCann Athlete Profile

Hi, i’m Craig and currently travel around a lot swashbuckling for GB. I first began wheelchair fencing after being talent spotted by ex-head GB coach John Townsend at a Paralympic Potential event in 2010. Following only a few months in the sport I became part of the British team and represented GB at my first international World Cup event almost a year to the date after first picking up a sword.

Currently ranked no. 2 in Britain, my greatest achievement to date came at the 7th International Challenge of Joinville in Antibes, in April 2011, in a French international event where I finished in 3rd place.

Currently studying a Graduate Diploma in Law, I plan on putting full-time studies on hold for the foreseeable future, following graduation in 2011, to concentrate on my sport.
